The Luna class frigates were a joint venture between the Mandate Navy and Terra’s greatest AI researches to develop a versatile patrol ship which could be piloted with minimal crew. Their hope was to regain greater control over the burgeoning frontier by maximizing the efficiency of the Navy’s limited officer staff. The project was an unqualified success, producing an advanced frigate which could be piloted by just two officers, one for navigation and the second for weapon systems. Innovative full-sensory immersion command suites and psionic command-and-control data links allowed the crew to control the ship as precisely and intuitively as their own bodies.
